Gray Eagle Maintenance Trainer (GEMT) Field Support Representative (FSR)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Avionics Technician Field Support Representative in¬ our Aero Services division to support Gray Eagle Maintenance Trainer (GEMT) at Fort Huachuca, in Sierra Vista, Arizona.¬  The GEMT is a training platform consisting of a blended virtual training environment and Part Task Trainers (PTTs).¬  The 2/13th Aviation Regiment Gray Eagle maintenance instructors use GEMT to train U.S. Army Unmanned Aircraft System Gray Eagle Repairers (MOS 15E ASI U5).¬  The GEMT provides a realistic, high fidelity training for Gray Eagle maintenance operations and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:¬ 

  • Provides field support for the Gray Eagle Maintenance Trainer, to include maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, configuring, and updating of electronic, mechanical, software, and network components/systems

  • Supports troubleshooting and on-the-spot maintenance to guarantee the least amount of lost time due to defective equipment shortcomings.

  • Performs routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and inspections on GEMT.¬ 

  • Maintains appropriate calibration, inspection, and maintenance records.

  • Works under general supervision from the site lead providing technical expertise in installing and troubleshooting avionics systems.

  • Provides assistance, troubleshooting and on-the-spot maintenance to guarantee the least amount of lost time due to defective equipment shortcomings.

  • May conduct Customer training and practical instruction on the use of GEMT system.

  • Performs limited functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems and equipment.

  • Operates automatic test equipment to locate, diagnose, and repair defective parts. Performs routine inspections on systems and equipment.

  • Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, and other disciplines of UAV operators, Army personnel and civilian customers when required.

  • Assists in the troubleshooting, component removal and replacement, testing and documentation in accordance with customer regulations when applicable, utilizing approved technical publications, maintenance standards, and approved procedures.

  • Provides support as required to the UAS training center maintaining UAV training assets and systems.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.



  • Typically requires education/formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency as well as two or more years experience in aviation or electronics. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education. EET degree desired.

  • Experience trouble shooting software, computer and network issues required.

  • Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate full knowledge of avionics and electronic procedures and principles.

  • Utilizes product knowledge, sound judgment and logical reasoning to determine technical solutions to moderately complex problems

  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot at the component level.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics and technical orders.

  • Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and assess situations and make judgments.

  • Able to work extended hours and travel as required.

  • Gray Eagle Maintenance experience required.

  • Considerable knowledge and use of electronic test equipment, hand tools, voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices.

  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications and operations, software includes Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, Linux, and Citrix desirable.¬ 

  • Experience handling HAZMAT, AES, IATA, and COMSEC material is desirable.

  • Requires long periods of standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
