JITC-TEC Senior Technical Advisor

A senior technical advisor is an expert in a particular field of knowledge who can provide detailed information, advice, and direction to organizational leadership and technical teams. Possesses an in-depth understanding of the organization's mission, products and services and ensures that technical policies, guidance, and procedures are rigorous and comprehensive. Will routinely meet with JITC's Command Section Technical Advisor.
May provide and present technical assistance for applications of advanced theory, principles, concepts, and methods. Overall responsibilities include supporting senior leaders and managers in charge of the technical planning and execution of services associated with the contract. Responsibilities may include conducting research and providing recommendations that support strategic initiatives such as the development and enhancement of the organization's technical test and evaluation (T&E) strategies, networks, laboratories, automation and instrumentation. Oversees research, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies. Identifies issues associated with implementation of emerging technologies and appropriate courses of action.
Works with the Government to ensure that recommended solutions meet the organization's goals and objectives. Oversees the technical work of project administrators, their project teams, and task order leads. Provides precise communications to government and contractor leadership regarding work being proposed or performed, productivity, process improvements, and status. Responsible for the conduct and content of technical program/project reviews to the government. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field and sixteen (16) years technical experience or experience ins a related area.
Relevant technical degrees include the following, while other curriculums may be considered by the Government: various engineering and science disciplines, Physics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Mathematics.
Related certifications in the area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience. Examples of Government or industry training include, but are not limited to, DAWIA Test and Evaluation Level 3 certification, DAWIA Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering (SPRDE) Level III certification, and United States Federal or DoD school training and certification on a specific system, network, or technology.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.
Work Environment
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located in Ft Huachuca, AZ.
Equipment and Machines
Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required. Ability to operate rental cars while TDY.
Regular hours will be between Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements
Other Essential Functions
U.S. Citizenship and Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility required. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
