Computer Operator II

Jacobs is looking for Computer Operator II candidates to support the Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.
Candidates will be expected to answer phone calls or emails addressing computer-related issues and documenting the issue by entering a ticket in our self-developed ticketing system. Remote end to end user computers using Dame Ware or remote desktop to fix issues. Solve issues by physically going to desks. If issue cannot be resolved by physically looking at the computer it is brought back to the help desk to be further investigated by the bench person. Responsible for configuring computers for the EPG network. Image computers with Norton Ghost and Image updating.
Configure computers for instrumentation purposes. Investigate and resolve issues that cannot be remediated in the field. Scan EPG computers for IA compliance prior to employee TDY trips, ensuring all patches are up to date, and that the computer can connect to the TDY site network. Receive broken or old equipment. Salvage any functioning parts.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma and 5 years experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Ability to processes scheduled routines that present few difficult operating problems. Familiar with responding to computer output instructions or error conditions, applying standard operating or corrective procedure, referring problems that do not respond to pre-planned procedure, and serving as an assistant operator, working under general supervision.
Security Plus Certification.
U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Possess an active Interim Secret or full Secret clearance prior to starting. Ability to speak, read, write English. Possess a valid Driver's License.
Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located in Ft. Huachuca, AZ.
Physical Requirements
Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Equipment and Machines
Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
Must have the ability to visually see objects close in on a small tablet/laptop computers or "smart" phones.
Must be proficient and able to type information, on a virtual keyboard, on a computer tablet or laptop.
Attendance
Regular hours will be between Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
Other Essential Functions
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion. Must pass drug screen.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
