SQL Database Administrator Sr/Lead
Ft. Huachuca/Sierra Vista, Az.
Join us on our Distributed Common Ground Station-Army engineering and sustainment (DAES) program. We need a DBA team member for the fixed sustainment team (DCGS-A Fusion Brain (DFB) and DCGS-A Fixed Infrastructure (DFI)). The Fixed (DFI/DFB) sustainment team provides the SEC all system specific necessary functions to complete their critical PM DCGS-A sustainment support activities. Types of support provided by the team include Engineering Management, Scrum Management, Test/Quality Assurance Engineering (T/QAE), and Technical Writing.
SQL Database Administrator Responsibilities
As a Senior DCGS-A Fixed SQL Database Development Engineer, you will work as a system specific SME for the DCGS-A Fixed databases under sustainment. You must communicate and collaborate to resolve issues with all data stakeholders to further evolve the DCGS-A Fixed development environments. Specifically, you will:
? Work with Relational Databases such as MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server.
? Perform database Performance and Tuning.
? Drive automation of installation, configuration, monitoring, operational and support tasks for Databases.
? Design, implement and maintain all functions of database systems, including access, methods and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation and statistical methodology.
? Define technical infrastructure environment for RDBMS platforms for highly available database
? Implement HA solution and define Backup/Recovery strategy.
? Assist in developing systems and procedures affecting database management, design and maintenance.
? Evaluate, test and produce recommendations for the selection, user and deployment of DBMS software, data management tools and utilities, data warehouse and replication tools.
? Support problem resolution; consult and advise in application design and tuning; plan, organize and execute product benchmarks for threshold and functionality.
? Provide data administration support of the development and maintenance of production and non-production database environments for distributed applications.
? Participate in product evaluations, design review session, data requirement meetings and consulting with application development products.
? Review ongoing and proposed projects to identify opportunities for reuse and process improvement.
? Review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards, Identify, clarify, and resolve project activity issues and risks, escalating them as needed.
? Document and communicate the status of progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary.
? Review technical documentation to verify compliance with PM requirements and established architectural standards and guidelines.
? Provide production support to include maximizing system availability, ensuring swift and complete database recovery, optimizing database availability through ongoing maintenance, and ensure conformance to audit and operating standards.
? Assist with communication interfaces/integration to associated systems.
? Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommends new and improved guidelines.
SQL Database Administrator Requirements:
? A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline and 9 years of professional work experience is required (No Degree Substitution)
? At least 1 year of experience with DCGS-A Fixed, DCGS-A v3, or another DCGS-A POR Database
? 2+ years of experience with scripting and automating database tasks.
? 2+ years of production support or technology administration supporting internal systems
? 1+ years of Linux/UNIX background.
? Demonstrated experience working in a virtualized DoD environment.
? In-depth working knowledge of DCGS-A Fixed supporting operating systems (RH Linux, Microsoft Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, and others).
? Experience in scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, batch files, InstallScript, Wise Script, etc.).
? Experience in creating technical documentation.
? Working knowledge of storage systems and automation.
? DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certified (baseline security certification i.e. CompTIA Security+ce) and (technical computing environment training or certification i.e. Server+) prior to start of work.
? TS/SCI Clearance/Access required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
