Computer Network Defense Senior, SME

Summary: The Computer Network Defense Senior, SME will provide the highest level of expertise with both Network and Systems related tools as they relate to Cyber Security.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position) Ensure the CND tools, policies and procedures are implemented correctly, provide an effective level of protection and ensure that the CND teams operating the tools are leveraging these tools correctly as well as interacting with the customer to adapt the CND posture to requirements Ensure the CND systems are functioning properly using their hands-on expertise with each tool Protect, mitigate, and defend against intrusions or attacks on networks or information systems Analyze and respond to unauthorized events or activity Develop and deliver pre-formatted and ad hoc reports, as tasked by the COR, and as supported by the ACAS Security Manager interface. Report security vulnerabilities discovered by Nessus scanners as tasked by the COR. Install, configure, and maintain a lab environment in support of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) testing/patches and system/database upgrades. Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, sites, including posts, camps, and stations, on problems relating to the appliances, firewalls, cards, and spans. Develop Intrusion Protection System/Intrusion Detection System (IPS/IDS) procedures; correlate and react to security events; perform first- and second-level triage; and forward suspicious activity to the DCO-D. Maintain and update the triage database with current threat data and response methods. Scan NIPRNet and SIPRNet workstations and servers for IAVA compliance and general vulnerabilities monthly and after patch installation. Submit monthly vulnerability assessment reports to the COR for review and acceptance by the USARCC-C Information Assurance Managers and USARCC-C Director. Build and sustain all devices, systems, peripherals, and applications in accordance with DOD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), STIG checklist, ports and protocols guidance, Communications Tasking Orders, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management notices.   Non-Essential Duties: Other duties as assigned   Supervisory Responsibilities: None   Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) High School Diploma and 12 years similar experience; OR Associates Degree and 10 years of experience; OR Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience Certification: IT Level I; IAM II; CSSP-IS; Computing Environment Cert; ITIL Foundations certified (within 3 months) Training: iWATCH; AR 25-2 - IA Awareness; AT Level I; Level I OPSEC; CUI; ALMS Security; AHIMA HIPAA - Privacy and Security  TS/SCI clearance required  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Leadership and self-direction skills are highly desired. Ability to solve complex problems utilizing creative thinking skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to critically analyze and understand the systems and communicate system requirements to the customer and leadership. Ability to travel as required. Ability to provide on-call support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.  Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.   1800003205

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
